a work in progress.
hello there!
my name is Daniel Caetano and i was born in the small town of Covilhã, somewhere in the middle of Portugal.
i entered the world of design by accident while watching youtube videos when i was around 13 years old. as i didn’t have much to do in my small town, i spent quite a lot of my time online and one day i stumbled upon what were these really fancy graphics and animations. i quickly discovered this was called motion design by way of a girl named Ana Marta who used to make videos about her journey as a communication designer student. my life changed quite a bit after that discovery as i started to learn the software and follow the tutorials for After Effects i could find online (or at least try as best as i could with a computer that had 1,5GB of RAM...)
right now, i am studying Design at UA (University of Aveiro) and it’s been interesting to say the least. i was the involved in the Design Student Body (even being its financial manager at one point) and it taught me how to talk to people and approach different subjects, which has also helped a lot with learning how to better communicate with people.
i’ve improved a lot since coming to university. not just technically, but also as a person looking at what design is and how it is intrinsically connected with human beings. i’ve also been developing a greater interest in trying to bring a full experience to the people who will interact with my work. that being said, i am aware i am still a work in progress and have lots of learning ahead of me.
